With a limited budget but an ambitious vision, Yuliya Forrest crafted a bold and memorable interior for MYTHRI — an Indian restaurant inspired by spice markets, peacocks, and architectural forms of the East.

Working in a rich monochromatic palette, she used terracotta red as the primary color for both the walls and the softly curved ceiling. This sculptural ceiling design added a sense of softness and movement, while the pale patterned floor provided balance and visual lift.

To enhance the atmosphere, she introduced dimmed lighting and deep, muted shades of blue and grey through the upholstered seating and bar tiles. The bar itself is framed with soft blue ceramics — a cool counterpoint to the warmth of the terracotta.

Spices, Stories, and Soft Curves – the Soul of Mythri

One of the standout features is the decorative mural: majestic peacocks strolling through a paradise garden filled with delicate trees. This hand-painted detail adds character and storytelling without inflating the budget.

The palette was no coincidence. The red terracotta evokes traditional Indian buildings and the earthy richness of paprika and spices — warm, inviting, and deeply rooted in Indian culture.
